When you step into Tree House Restaurant, you are welcomed by the aroma of freshly prepared dishes and the warmth of a friendly staff. Patrons rave about the versatility of the menu, embracing everything from hearty burgers and savory pizzas to soul-soothing soups and homemade desserts. One can't help but feel the genuine care that goes into crafting daily-baked bread, rolls, and pies, a testament to the restaurant’s dedication to quality.
Customers, like Michael Forte, appreciate the community vibe—where tabs are run, and generosity flows freely. It's a place where the owners foster a nurturing atmosphere that makes each guest feel at home. As Forte observed, “Totally Alaskan, never give a hand out always give a hand up.” This philosophy is mirrored in the food, which is consistently praised for its flavor and freshness.
During a recent visit, I couldn’t resist trying the highly recommended fried scone from Lacey Taylor—a dish that truly lives up to its hype. It offers the perfect balance between indulgence and comfort, reminiscent of state fair treats, but with a delightful twist. The crispy fries, juicy burgers, and the tantalizing ranch dressing further solidify the restaurant's reputation as a go-to for comforting American diner fare.
Moreover, Terry Hembry's mention of the chicken fried steak—so tender it can be cut with a fork—paired with creamy mashed potatoes and luscious pecan pie, encapsulates what Tree House excels at: satisfying comfort food served with a smile. Each dish tells a story of passion and tradition, making every meal not just a meal, but a memory.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Tree House Restaurant is a must-visit. You’ll find a welcoming space that serves crave-worthy dishes packed with local flavor. With each visit, this delightful eatery proves itself to be a consistent highlight on the Alaskan culinary landscape. Trust me, you won't regret making the trip!
“ Great spot anytime if day. Great burgers great soup great pizza. They make bread, rolls and pies daily. The owner (i overheard as i was playing for my dinner) let's people run tabs. I actually think he just gave away pizza to someone whom called asking for a tab. Totally Alaskan, never give a hand out always give a hand up. ”
“ This was a wonderful surprise on our road trip. It felt like a little bit of home. The staff were very friendly, and the food was incredible. We will be adding this stop to all future trips ”
“ Yummy ice cream and coffee in Nikiski, and Society, who served us and was working when we stopped in, is just lovely, polite and great conversation. ”
“ Try the “ fried scone “ you’ll think you’re at the state fair but better than any funnel cake or elephant ear !!!! The Treehouse is an absolute GO-TO when you’re in the Kenai area ! It’s definitely worth a drive a little north on the Kenai Spur Hwy . Don’t let the Modest building and decor fool you. I’ve never had a bad meal, I’m in town a few times a year and it’s consistently good no matter when I show up ! It’s a classic American diner with a large variety of Breakfast , dinner, and lunch options that are all great . Fries are crispy , burgers are yummy , the ranch dressing is delicious, the staff is kind and helpful. One of my favorite restaurants in Alaska , a total hidden gem ! ”
